Peter Thompson

Peter Thompson is currently Senior Vice President & Manager of Cathay Bank’s Business Capital and their Fund Finance Group with a focus on financing private equity sponsored funds and providing asset-based lending solutions for commercial borrowers. California based Cathay Bank currently maintains $18 billion in assets with office locations throughout the State and New York, Boston, Chicago, Seattle, Las Vegas, Texas, Hong Kong and other key locations in China. Peter has over 40-years of commercial bank lending experience both domestically and in Japan that has included corporate finance for both U.S. and Asian based companies, as well as, arranging specialty credit for energy, project finance, engineering, agriculture, and investment management firms. His career associations include MUFG Union Bank, Bank of America, City National Bank and Bank of Tokyo. A USC IBEAR XI alum, he maintains an active CPA license in Colorado and has earned undergraduate degrees in finance and accounting. .
