Steve Barth is interested in the evolution of smarter teams, organizations and communities in today’s complex world. At USC he teaches business, innovation and entrepreneurship at the Iovine and Young Academy, and strategy and organization design at Marshall. As a consultant focused on learning, communications and change he has worked in industries ranging from banking to microfinance to competitive intelligence to consulting itself for public and private sector organizations worldwide including the Thai Government, UN Peacekeepers, Accion Center for Financial Inclusion and technology start-ups. As an award-winning magazine writer, he explored issues as diverse as domestic violence, quantum cosmology, leveraged buyouts, carving canoes and hostage negotiation. Professor Barth has a BA from the University of California Santa Barbara, an IBEAR MBA from the University of Southern California and was a visiting scholar to Project Zero’s Learning Innovations Lab at Harvard Graduate School of Education.
